RANGE OF EXPERIMENTS TO BE CARRIED OUT: 1. To Calculate the Coefficient of Impact of Jet on Vanes 2. To Calculate the Force of Impact of Jet on Vanes 3. To study impact momentum principle TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION : The experimental unit consist of a water sump tank with self-priming monoblock centrifugal pump. A vertical upward jet issuing from the nozzle strikes the vane fitted over the nozzle. The force of water jet can be controlled by a valves. The vane is fitted over a lever. A digital force indicator is provided for measurement of force on vanes. The whole assembly is housed in a. box with two sided Perspex. A measuring tank is provided for measurement of discharge through the nozzle. Four interchangeable vanes of different angles are provided. This system is complete closed circuit type and easy to move due to wheels.
