HEAT TRANSFER IN FORCED CONVECTION
RANGE OF EXPERIMENTS TO BE CARRIED OUT:
- Average surface heat transfer coefficient for a pipe losing heat by forced convection to air flowing through it can be obtained for different air flow & heat flow rates.
- Reynold’s number & Nusselt number for each experimental condition. To Plot these values on Log – log graph. To Plot on the same graph the Dittus-Boelter correlation.
- To plot & comment on the surface temperature distribution along the length of pipe.
EXPERIMENTAL SETUP :
- Band Heater Assembly.
- Forced convection pipe assembly.
- Blower Unit with orifice & manometer arrangement for measurement.
- Set of thermocouples.
CONTROL PANEL :
- 12 Channel Digital Temperature Indicator
- Dimmerstat : 0 – 2 A.
- Main’s On/Off Switch.
- Voltmeter :0 – 250 V.
- Ammeter :0 – 3 A.
- Blower On/Off Switch.
