CASCADE REFRIGERATION CYCLE TEST RIG

RANGE OF EXPERIMENTS TO BE CARRIED OUT :

  1. To observe the working principal of Cascade System..
  2. To determine Actual cooling C.O.P, Carnot C.O.P., Theoretical C.O.P., Actual heating C.O.P., Relative C.O.P., Ton of Refrigeration Etc.
  3. To determine the efficiency of the system.
  4. Observe the working of refrigeration cycle.

 EXPERIMENTAL SETUP  : 

  1. Compressor    :          ½  Tone, Hermetically sealed

compressor, Make Emmelsion – Coplend/equivalent.

  1. Condenser       :          Coiled Tube Heat Exchanger acts as

a condenser. Copper coil is merged in water tank to cool down the gas temp. Continuous water flow circulation is required to extract the heat of gases.

  1. Expansion device :     Thermostatic expansion valve.
  2. Evaporator coil      :     Coiled Tube Heat Exchanger acts as

a evaporator. Copper coil is merged in water tank to cool down the gas temp. Continuous water flow circulation is required to extract the cooling effect of gases.

  1. Rotameter       :           For  measuring   liquid   flow   of  Refrigerant

(Eureka Make ).

  1. Energy Meter :            For power measurement of compressor.
  2. Pressure Gauge :        2 Nos. for H.P., L.P. measurement
  3. HP/LP cutout :            1 No. to suit compressor, Ranko/Equiv.
  4. Service valve needle type                  : 1 No.
  5. Thermostat                  :           1 No.
  6. Suitable filter/drier Make Indfoss.

CONTROL PANEL :

  1. 12 Channel Digital Temperature Indicator
  2. Dimmerstat     :           230 V. AC single phase for heating control
  3. Main On/Off Switch.
  4. Voltmeter        :           0 – 250 V.
  5. Ammeter         :           0  –  15 A.

SPACE  REQUIRED :
