BUBBLE CAP DISTILLATION COLUMN

The equipment consists of stainless steel column with reboiler. The bubble caps are fitted in the column at proper locations. The distillation is carried out by heating the still. The vapors coming from the column is going in to the condenser. The distillate is collected in the distillate receiver , part of which or complete distillate is recycled as reflux.

RANGE OF EXPERIMENTS TO BE CARRIED OUT :

  1. To carryout distillation in Bubble cap column.
  2. To calculate the number of trays required
  3. To establish the overall tray efficiency of the distillation
  4. To study the practical significance of McCabe – Thiele method.
